It is late…almost close to Daylight Savings Time, and I am tired!! However, I wanted to give a quick update on Z’s hair.
The past week has taken a toll on the set of Ghana plaits I placed in Z’s hair. From the humidity while being out on Halloween night and getting rained on during our recent move to Z’s everyday tumbling around, her plaits HAD to come down earlier than planned. I forgot to take a picture of her hairstyle before I took the threads out, but her hair was extremely fuzzy. Since her hair got really wet from the rainy weather in the course of a hour, I was concerned that her hair would get quite tangled within the threads wrapped around her plaits. Fortunately, that was not the case! I was able to remove the threads easily and quickly compared to the first set of Ghana plaits. It at most took me 25 minutes, and her hair was really soft and moisturized everywhere except for the ends, which I re-moisturized using water and Shea Moisture’s Curl Enhancer Smoothie. Because her hair did get wet, she did not get as great of a stretch from the African Threading technique, but she did get a decent textured stretch, which made it easy to part her hair into 3 sections. I put her hair into a quick style to look neat for Church tomorrow; I plan on doing a quick cornrow style in her hair to help get us through the end of the week before styling.
It is a new month, and now we are entering into one of the busiest times of the year. Our family has so much on our plate currently, but God’s grace shall abound! 🙂 I will try to remember to snap a few pictures of any styles from this week to post here. Until then, everyone be blessed!
